FAQ’s

How many hours does each Collection include?

The amount of time we spend with you depends on what your needs are and which Collection you chose. We spend the entire day preparing and photographing your day. That is why we do only one event per Saturday. For The Enchanted Story Collection, you have us the entire Wedding Day!

How long have you’ve been in business?

Mr. Peppler has been in the professional photography business since 1989, and Ms. Gordanier began working with him in early 2000. They have both been “shutter bugs” all their lives.

Can we have the negatives?

Due to the fact that Enchanted Images is 100% digital, negatives have been replaced with digital files. Your images are always available to you on an Image DVD are included in some of the Collections or can be purchase Al la Cart. These digital files are the same as having your negatives and you may print photos with them.

What if we really wanted film instead of digital, what would you do?

We still own our film cameras, one of the things we always strive to do is keep our cost down, if we have a particular client that absolutely wants film we can do it but we most charge additional fees to compensate us for the extra work and expenses associated with film. Does any body know anybody who wants to buy a Hasselband system?

Why should I choose your company over another?

We know that there are a lot of great photographers to choose from in all price ranges, experiences and abilities. We are very down to earth, and we love what we do. We love to have fun, and we love to take pictures! Our style is very modern; fresh, creative, and spontaneous. We help you to look and feel your very best, and to capture you at your very best for wonderful lifelong memories you will treasure. We work as a couple most of the time; a guy and a gal working as a team to make you feel comfortable and to get the best results possible. This is our full time business; we do not “do photography for extra income” on the weekends. But the best reason is that we are not a huge impersonal company, one that will send a photographer out to your wedding that you may not have even met before. When you hire Enchanted Images, you get Rob and Arpegea. We pride ourselves on being a small and personal company, who knows your name, “For that personal touch on your special day.” We never scrabble about extra time or even travel, extra locations, we want your day the best it can be.

What do your clients say about you?

When I think about this question I think about some of the wonderful things our clients have said about us; how much fun we are, how they love to hang out with us because they think we’re so cool, and how they can’t believe we asked about things they never thought of about their day. People tell us how they see the passion we have for what we do, and the high level of creativity we have. And of course, how much they love what we do for them and some of the "extras" they didn’t expect they were getting.  We know that it is all about knowing that you need someone who is working for you, someone you are comfortable with and that you can trust. Here are just a few of the compliments we have received from our clients:

What is your cancellation policy?

We give 100% refund back on monies paid to us up to 90 days prior to the event. If you cancel before 90 days of the event, we will refund your retainer if we can book another event on that date.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use a combination of equipment. We love digital equipment and use the Canon 10D and 20D cameras, the very latest in professional digital technology. We sometimes use the 35mm cameras to add variety and to use for other “creative ventures” and sometime when our client request it. We always have at least two backup cameras in case of equipment failure. We use professional lighting for dark reception areas, and use a variety of tools to take advantage of natural lighting.

Do you have a studio?

No, not at this time. We have owned and operated several successful studios in Southern California and we are currently looking for the perfect place to build a new one soon. We do have professional portable studio equipment, and take it wherever we want a studio set up. Although we love the studio, we also love to use the natural environment for a lot of our work; natural lighting combined with a beautiful natural background is the best for any photographic situation.

How and where do you meet with us?

Wherever and whenever it is convenient to you! For example, a lot of our clients like to meet us at their home, or their parent’s home. Some of our clients meet us for coffee at Barnes and Noble, our somewhere close to their home. Fortunately, our office is mobile. So, we have the flexibility to travel to visit our clients anywhere any time. With some our out of state clients, we do everything over the phone and the Internet. Whatever works for you!

What about Equipment failures?

We always have three to four cameras at every event; we generally carry twice the amount of equipment to prepare for the unexpected. Some of our customers have made remarks that we are kind of like a combination of “Robo- Cop meets McGyver”; we have saved the day more then once.

Digital vs. film:

This is such hot topic right now and there is a lot of mystery and misunderstanding of the current technology. We could write an entire book on this topic alone. At this time, being digital based photographers, we deliver our files to a commercial lab that processes and color correct everything to an image CDs or DVD. The lab sends us back our copy; we file them with your file, and keep them forever. Then we can edit the images (omit images such as blurs, closed eyes, and duplicate photos), create ordering pages on the web, set your photos in a slide show to music, and do some other special things for you. We will retain the creative rights to edit.  The bottom line on this subject is that we will use any tool or technology to get the best images that we possibly can for our customers. We are very excited about some of the new equipment that is coming out and we absolutely know that digital is here to stay.

How flexible are you? This all sounds good, but what if there is something special that we want: can we have it?

Absolutely! We encourage different and creative ideas. We want to make this your day! Some couples have given us samples of photos so we can re-create them. We love it. We are creative, contemporary, and fun! We love new and different ideas...Bring them on!  We have also had brides design their own Collections. No problem!

What about your education and experiences?

Rob Peppler has been a photographer and artist all his life. He loves people and animals, and found his passion in drawing and painting people and their pets from going to a couple of local animal shows. He found that people wanted portraits of their beloved pets faces from wallet size pictures no larger than a thumb nail (you could barely see their faces!). He thought maybe a couple of classes at the local college would help him get more information on portraiture and backgrounds. His passion lead him to Edwards Air Force Base for a year long ROP program, Antelope Valley College for their certificated programs, and then for advanced commercial and portraiture lighting, he took seminars at the UCLA Extension campus. He has attended many other seminars and conventions for further education in the photography world. During this time, Mr. Peppler also found valuable experience in assisting renowned photographers and studios such as West Productions, LA Images, and Expressly Portraits. For two years he owned and operated a local processing lab and studio. It is now years later, and Mr. Peppler’s passion and unique style is even more evident in his wedding photography. He has many certificates in photography, newsprint and layout, and computer graphics. Enchanted Images is in membership with different professional photography clubs and associations; he believes firmly in the belief that education is key to his company’s success. He has won an award in the wedding division in SCV Photography Association. His freelance photography is host to models, actors, local businesses, families, and high school seniors.

How do you feel about the Bride and Groom seeing each other before the ceremony?

This issue is steeped in tradition. This tradition is from the days when marriages were arranged; the veil was placed on the bride so she couldn’t be seen until the “I do’s” were made. Our experience is that when a couple decides to break this tradition and see each other before they walk down the isle, everyone is much more relaxed, you don’t feel like everyone is looking at you. You get more enjoyment out of this intimate moment before the ceremony, especially if you plan some quiet time together. Plan to see each other ALONE, so you can share with each other the magic of the day. Then, with just the two of you, we can get more of the love story that we are co-creating with you. Then when you are walking down the isle, you are not so nervous. Another benefit is that during the formals we have more time to be creative with larger groups and we can get you to the celebration much quicker. Just let us know which way you decide to go; we will support you either way.

We are considering putting disposable cameras on the tables at the reception. Do you think this is a good idea?

Absolutely not. First of all, we have found that these cameras do not have the flash power to take good photos. The flashes that we use are specifically designed for dark situations like receptions. This why you hire a professional photographer. Secondly, most of the photos you get out of those cameras are dark representations of “flash wars” from the kids who are playing with the cameras. Your best bet would be to let us do our job. We do not have any problems if your guests want to bring their cameras. Please remember to ask them to take their photo after ours (the cameras flashing at the same time can create lighting problems).

Do you take credit cards? And what is the payment schedule?

Of course we do. We take cash, checks and on-line payments as well. We require 25% down to retain us as your photographers; then three easy payments, the last 25% due at the meeting two-weeks prior to your wedding day.

Advice from your professional photographer:

Here are a few tips to help your wedding day go as smoothly as possible, and to help produce photographic results that you and your family will treasure for many years to come. We hope this information is helpful to you and your family on your special day.

I would say that organization, preparation and information is the key to a successful wedding day, especially when it comes to your photography. I say organization, because if you are on a budget, you want to get all the photographs that are important to you during the limited amount of time you have with your photographer. A wedding coordinator can be very helpful in this matter; some brides and grooms have a family member or close friend work with the photographers to insure they capture images of all the key people on your special day.

Preparation is a way to have plenty of time to see all kinds of styles of photography. Look to friends, family, and co-workers to get ideas. Try sites on the Internet to find what styles appeal to you. Some of our wedding couples have brought us samples from magazines and the Internet, showing us images that have styles and poses they like (we really appreciate this). We at Enchanted Images feel we have a style that combines classic and contemporary candid for a more “photojournalistic” style.

We also talk to you about what you want in your photos, to be sure we capture those precious images of family, friends, and of course, of your special day. What really helps is if we get names of  “the maid of honor” and “best man”. Calling for “Aunt Sarah” is more effective than calling for “Aunt of the Groom”. This information helps the photo taking sessions run a lot smoother.

I know this all sounds a little overwhelming, but what we are trying to do is prepare your special day so you know that every little detail of the day has been worked out beforehand. Then, on your special day, all you have to do is just have the best day of your life, and not worry about anything; just relax and have fun. Experience has taught us that photographs of happy, smiling faces are what people really want for their ever-lasting memories.

Part of Enchanted Images philosophy is to use modern technology that allows us to take lots and lots of photos so you have a lot to choose from.  We do not “roll count” or limit those memories you so deeply deserve of your magic day. We love what we do, and we believe it shows in our work and in our relationship with you.

One last piece of advice: be sure to get plenty of rest the night before and drink lots of water. Be careful not to overindulge with alcohol to avoid that “bloated and red” face look. Relax, trust the people you have hired to make your day the best it can possibly be, and just have fun!
